Paul Livingston is a highly sought-after session violist, recording regularly in major studios across London (Abbey Road, AIR Lyndhurst, Angel, RAK, British Grove) and Berlin (Teldex, Hansa, Funkhaus, B Sharp). His credits include work with artists such as Rihanna, Burna Boy, Stormzy, Guy Chambers, Fall Out Boy, Roger Eno, Raphael, Mari Samuelsen, Pablo López, Roland Kaiser, and many others, across all major labels.
As an orchestral and chamber musician, Paul's playing features on some of the highest-grossing films of all time, including Avengers: Endgame, Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning, The Hunger Games, The Batman, Black Panther, and Star Wars: Andor, as well as many TV series for the BBC, Netflix, Disney, and Apple TV.
For Orchestral Tools, Paul recorded the Berlin Solo Strings viola samples and contributed to major sample libraries for Sonoton Music and Audio Network.
Paul studied viola with Bruno Giuranna at the Accademia Stauffer in Cremona, making his recital debut in 2018 at the Museo del Violino. In recent seasons, he has performed and recorded with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Kammerakademie Potsdam, Philharmonia Orchestra, European Union Chamber Orchestra and Rundfunk Sinfonieorchester Berlin, among others, and played as guest principal violist at the Welsh National Opera, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, RTE National Symphony Orchestra, and the Berliner Symphoniker.
